Simple Summer Health Tips

It is easy to get caught up in the summer rays, parties, and downtime, some

times forgetting about taking care of yourself along the way. Here are some simple tips to make sure you can enjoy the summer the right way, and avoid any problems with your health this summer:

  1. Keep cool with light clothing. Summer is not the time to forget about possible heat exhaustion. Wearing light, loose-fitted clothing helps your body cool itself down during the intense heat.

  2. Water. Water. Water. Water is a key staple to your day. Without drinking enough water, you could suffer from dehydration, heat exhaustion, cramps, and much more. Make it your job to drink about two liters of water a day to help your body stay hydrated and feeling good.

  3. Start a summer diet. Sweating is inevitable in the summer, but it is important that you are replacing lost nutrients right away with a summer diet. Incorporate more fruits, vegetables, and water in your diet to allow your body to make up for the nutrients lost in sweat.

  4. Don’t skip your hygiene regime. It is easy to get caught up in your day and forget your daily hygiene regime. Make sure you fit in time for cool showers to help your body cool down while keeping your body clean. Change clothes and shoes often to avoid infections.

  5. Get active. Summer is the time to exercise and try new sports. Get up and get active! Whether it is a walk, a catch, or a run, it is good to fit time in your day to exercise. Make sure to avoid the peak of heat which is noon to 3 pm, and exercise before or after the peak. Also, don’t forget to wear the correct athletic wear when exercising.
